In attendance at Money20/20 USA, held in Las Vegas from October 22-25, FinTech Magazine speaks to Sara Hafner, SVP Global Partnerships at Liberis, about embedded finance.
Embedded finance is the integration of financial services into non-financial offerings. Sara Hafner explains how small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are looking for alternatives to the High Street Bank as they explore finance, as well as the complicated applications they see in banks.
Embedded finance options for SMBs
“What embedded finance provides them is to get financing when they want it and where they want it in a seamless way that is very personalised to who they are,” says Hafner.
She cites how one of the big challenges that Liberis sees with SMBs is a fear of rejection. With trends that the company is currently seeing in embedded finance with personalisation and pre-approval, Liberis is hoping to take away the fear and enable more democratisation to access funding and grow as a result.
“I think for us, partnerships are at the core of what we do,” Hafner says. “We are a partner-based distribution model, and we work with partners to access the merchants they have and really rely on the partnership they have with the merchants.
“We want the SMBs that we’re working with to find value and growth in our service and value and growth in the partnerships that they have that bring us the business.”
