Republican firebrand Lauren Boebert spent hundreds of dollars of campaign donations to watch a sporting event in which the man she was secretly dating was competing, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Images obtained by DailyMail.com show the Colorado congresswoman cheering Aspen bar owner, Quinn Gallagher, 46, over the finish line at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB on August 12.
The race, which takes in 100 miles of extreme terrain at high altitude is billed as one of the most prestigious endurance cross-country mountain bike events in the world and costs $475 to enter.
According to the race’s website Gallagher finished 774th of the 1,788 competitors, finishing in a time of 9 hours, 58 minutes and 40 seconds – an average pace of just over 10 miles per hour.
He was photographed crossing the finish line. Caught in the corner of the frame, Boebert appears ecstatic as she cheers him on.
Now, Federal Election Commission records obtained by DailyMail.com show that Boebert used campaign funds to shell out $339.94 on ‘event tickets’ to witness the moment which took place more than a month before Boebert’s relationship with Gallagher was publicly exposed.
Boebert’s office did not immediately respond when asked for comment.
The endurance race starts and ends in the town of Leadville and has an elevation gain of nearly 12,000 feet in thin Rocky Mountain Air. The entire course was within Boebert’s congressional district until the 2022 elections when it was moved due to redistricting.
Their affair exploded into the spotlight following a shambolic public outing in September when the pair was ejected from a performance of Beetlejuice in a Denver theatre.
Surveillance footage showed Gallagher fondling Boebert’s breasts while she had her hand in his lap.
Patrons also complained the congresswoman was vaping and loudly singing along.
At the time the 36-year-old grandmother was in the throes of a divorce from Jayson Boebert, 42, her husband of 18 years, with whom she has four children.
At first she attempted to downplay her relationship with Gallagher and leaned heavily into the much-repeated narrative that this was simply an over enthusiastic first date.
But sources at the time told DailyMail.com that the pair had been secretly seeing each other for months.
That assertion is now supported not only by her Leadville outing a month before the Beetlejuice debacle but also by an earlier occasion on which she was discovered to have spent campaign funds at the Gallagher-owned Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar.
Last month Politico reported that she had spent $317.48 of supporters’ money at the bar on July 31.
The trans-friendly establishment hosts the drag shows that Boebert has so fiercely condemned.
That same night records reviewed by DailyMail.com show, Boebert spent $137.71 of campaign funds on an Uber – the approximate cost of a ride between Hooch and the congresswoman’s home in Silt, Colorado.
Gallagher declined to comment on the status of his relationship with Boebert when approached by DailyMail.com shortly after their Denver date night made headlines.
But Boebert publicly implied that the couple had split and that she has sworn off all ‘date nights’ for the time being.
The controversial Republican initially tried to play it all off as a storm in a teacup whipped up by her political opponents.
Campaign manager Drew Sexton issued a statement dripping in sarcasm even casting shade on patrons who had complained about the representative’s behavior.
Sexton stated: ‘I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors; in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of Beetlejuice.’
But when more footage emerged showing Boebert and Gallagher all over each other in their seats as well as her flipping the bird at security personnel tasked with escorting them from the premises and demanding, ‘Do you know who I am?’ Boebert adopted a more contrite tone.
She said: ‘The past few days have been difficult and humbling and I’m truly sorry.
‘There’s no perfect blueprint for going through a public and difficult divorce which over the past few months has made a challenging personal time for me and my entire family.’
Boebert’s ex-husband earns $39,865 a month – close to half a million a year – and nearly three times the sophomore congresswoman’s $14,500 monthly income, according to papers filed in their divorce.
Documents seen by DailyMail.com showed that Boebert was asking for $1,833.43 in child support for her four children as well as $7, 228.08 a month in spousal support in the divorce.
The divorce, for which Boebert filed in May having given April 25 as their date of separation, was finalized following a court hearing October 10 and the terms have since been sealed.
