Friends gather to raise funds for man found dead inside caravan in Glastonbury

Friends have come together in a bid to pay off the funeral costs of a beloved man who was found dead in a caravan. Jakub Rutecki was found dead inside a caravan at Black River Drove off Meare Road in Glastonbury before 6am on Friday, August 18.

The ambulance service attended the scene along with police officers, who have since confirmed the death was non-suspicious. Investigations into the 21-year-old’s death are still ongoing on behalf of the coroner’s court.

While investigations are ongoing, friends are trying to help pay off Jakub’s funeral, which was believed to have been held in early September. A fundraiser by Aneta Mlynarska states the funeral cost Jakub’s family approximately £3,000 and she has called upon friends and acquaintances to donate what they can to support his family.

A description of the fundraiser, which can be found through this link, reads: “Iza is left with a massive funeral bill and while she managed to deal with most of things financially until now she got really stuck. She is so far £3,000 short and unable to figure this money out and be able to bury her son with dignity he deserves.

“Most of her friends already chipped in but there’s been bill after bill hitting her up and since she was refused a bank loan or credit card despite good credit rating I decided to ask for help elsewhere and GoFundMe came to the rescue.

“Iza is a very proud person and would never do it so here I am, let’s help this special human being and an amazing mum bury her son. I know we can pull it off.”
