U.K. shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 down 0.49% By Investing.com
Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Beverage sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO), which rose 9.86% or 78.20 points to trade at 871.60 at the close. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) added 2.54% or 5.50 points to end at 222.30 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) was up 1.41% or 200.00 points to 14,410.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prudential PLC (LON:PRU), which lost 3.36% or 33.60 points to trade at 966.20 in late trade. Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) declined 2.52% or 10.91 points to end at 421.45 and Diageo PLC (LON:DGE) shed 2.32% or 77.00 points to 3,243.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 833 to 810 and 469 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 5.65 to $1,967.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.60% or 1.31 to hit $82.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.98 to trade at $86.22 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 103.60.
