“I told them that I was leaving them because their values did not match mine – which is what NatWest said to Mr Farage. I don’t agree with many of his statements, but the bank shouldn’t pick on him like they have.”
Mr Ison added that he has heard from other people who are planning on leaving the bank for the same reasons, saying NatWest should focus on providing a good service to their customers such as passing on higher savings rates.
“They should concentrate on their core business and stop picking on people and spending money creating dossiers on account holders,” he said.

Elaine Adams, 65, is a retiree from Shropshire. She said she was in the process of moving life savings away from NatWest because of the “appalling” way it handled Mr Farage’s situation.
She said: “I am leaving NatWest after what they have done.
“I was so angry when I heard what the bank did to Mr Farage. He has done nothing wrong and the situation is appalling.
“The fact that they have kept a Stasi-esque report on him is scary, how many more banks do this? I am shocked.
“I am appalled by the bank’s arrogance. They should stick with banking. The board should be sacked if this is the view of how they should treat people. The bank no longer aligns with my principles.”
Caroline Trotter, 62, from Northamptonshire, said: “I closed both my Instant Saver Account and my Select Platinum Account over the past seven days.
“I am still furious about the treatment of Nigel Farage and those others that have been unfortunate enough to become caught up in this ridiculously woke society that is Britain of 2023.
“Banks should provide a banking service for their customers and not delve into politics. Banks have forgotten that they need happy customers to exist, without them, they are nothing and it’s about time the banks realised this.”
