Ayrshire Easter egg run to benefit Crosshouse Children’s Fund

Hillbillies Motor Cycle Club is organising its annual Easter Egg Run in aid of Crosshouse Children’s Fund.

The Easter Egg Run will take place on Saturday, April 8 from 12pm close to Mauchline Primary School on Sorn Road, Mauchline, where participants can make a £5 donation to the collection team on the day.

The organisers aim to depart at 1pm, travelling along the A76 to Bellfield, onto the A71 and up to Crosshouse where they will be able to present the collective fundraising to the charity representatives.

After the Easter Egg Run club will join family friendly all day music event, Rock the Nile at Harley’s in Ayr, to support Crohn’s and Colitis UK charity. The event will have live music acts and DJ until 3.30am.

Annual charity run to Crosshouse Hospital Children’s Unit will take place this Sunday, April 8

Bryan Fleming, Hillbillies MCC Treasurer, commented: “We decided to raise money for the local children’s ward as a thanks for the work they do supporting families at difficult times. Some of our members many years ago had first hand experience of the help they provided and saw the need for support

“We felt that for the children the spectacle of bikers coming along with eggs and letting folk see and sit on bikes, get photos on the bike, it is all added to the family experience which is our foundation as a club.”

He added: “Last year we managed to raise £3,000 for the same charity in addition to our supporting other causes through participation on similar runs, rallies and donations which include Erskine Veterans and the Beatson.
