The Newark Advertiser found out how people would spend their money if they won big in the lottery
On its weekly vox pop, the Advertiser asked people in town what they would do if they won the lottery.
It’s said money can’t buy happiness, but if it could, this is what the people of Newark would spend their millions on.
Liz Cove said: “People say that they wouldn’t want to win the millions, I would. I’d help all my families and charities.”
Martin Robinson said: “I’d leave England, go somewhere warm, sunny and cheap.
He added: “Not Spain, Poland maybe, it’s cold in winter and warm in summer.”

Despite people having fantasies of winning big, it’s often a pipe dream as the odds of winning the National Lottery are currently around one in 45 million.
EuroMillions draws have the largest cash prize to win, with a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €17 million, which can roll over up to €240 million.
The record jackpot in the UK for a ticket is a staggering £195 million.
Dave Billet said: “I’d go and live somewhere else other than here first of all. Maybe I’d go to Devon or even abroad, somewhere like Menorca.”
Ian Firth said: “I’d move to Greece, I like it there, the weather, flood, drinks. It’s laid back.”
Winning the lottery for most isn’t a positive as it may first seem as according to the National Endowment for Financial education, statistics show 70% of lottery winners end up broke and a third go on to declare bankruptcy.
The UK lottery with the best odds is the Health Lotto, with jackpot odds of 1 in 2,118,760, in comparison the EuroMillions jackpot odds are at 1 in 139,838,160.
