Data from Eurojobs compiled by CMC Markets has found that there were 114,947 graduate finance job listings in France in the past 30 days.
This is slightly more than the 113,952 job listings in the UK.
French graduate finance jobs also offer better pay, at £33,801, compared to £31,613 in the UK, according to Glassdoor.
Still, the UK is far ahead of third-placed Germany, where 66,308 jobs are on offer. Pay in Germany, though, is higher than the UK or France at £34,516.
The UK ranked 9th out of 20 European countries in pay for entry-level finance roles. Switzerland had easily the highest salaries, at £61,417, almost £10,000 ahead of second-placed Denmark, which itself was more than £10,000 ahead of any other countries.
CMC chief market analyst Michael Hewson noted the wide availability of graduate finance jobs across Europe.
“There are thousands of finance graduate job listings all over Europe, as our research shows,” he said. “Entry-level finance jobs allow the opportunity to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment whilst developing existing skills and growing in confidence.”
Other recent data, however, has been more positive about the number of job openings in the UK finance sector.
A review of finance labour market trends by Morgan McKinley and Vacancysoft showed that 87,000 new professional finance sector jobs were added in 2022, including 45,000 in London.
