THERE’S nothing quite like Royal Ascot when it comes to horse racing.
It’s not just the history, the buzz and the event that draw the eyes – but also the whopping prize pots.
All attention will be on the prestigious Ascot Gold Cup race on day three as the highlight of the five days of action.

Ascot Gold Cup 2024 prize money
The winner of this year’s Ascot Gold Cup will receive an eye-watering £650,000 prize.
The mega money is actually the minimum for a Group 1 race at this year’s event – meaning other races will see even higher cash prizes.
The winner of the Gold Cup will earn a whopping £369,000.
While the jockey who guides their horse over the line first will earn between eight and nine per cent of the money for their efforts.
When is the Gold Cup?
The Gold Cup will take place on the third day of Royal Ascot, which runs from June 18 to June 22.
That means the highly anticipated race will take place on Thursday, June 20.
